Welcome to favorite’s month! One straight month of me gushing week after week about my favorite authors and hopefully convincing some of you to pick up their books. This week, we’re jumping right in with Carrie Vaughn. Carrie is best known for her Kitty Norville books, the most recent of which, ‘ Kitty’s Big Trouble’, just came out at the end of June and is still going strong. She has also released some stand alone novels that stretch all over the fantasy spectrum from dragons to super heroes.
Another great thing about Carrie is what an active blogger she is. She doesn’t just blog about her books, and her writing so I feel like I know her and where she comes from a little more than most authors. You can check her blog out here.

I absolutely love Kitty and the Midnight Hour, but for some reason never got to picking up the next book in the series. I really need to bump it up on my wishlist.
Well, I don’t know Carrie Vaugh, but I look forward to hearing more about her! How do you go about requesting an interview with an author? I mean, do you just go to their website and email them the request?
That’s what I did for Carrie Vaughn but it really depends on the author, some you never hear back from.
Carrie happens to be really easy going and approachable, which is a big part of why I love her.

I love Carrie Vaughn because she’s my sister. I love her books because I think her writing is brilliant. Sure, I’m biased. But when I try to pick up any other urban fantasy I can’t get more than 100 pages into it because I simply can’t believe the characters or (if the characters are supposed to be unbelievable) the stupid things they do.
Kitty and all the characters in her world feel real. Their emotions are real. Their choices are real. I am invested in them and the outcomes of their actions.
And this goes for all her other books and stories as well.
